The annual conference of the National Jewish Workers’ Alliance, district No. 7, comprising middle western states, was held in Madison this week, with an attendance of more than 100 delegates.
Plans for an intensive membership campaign were discussed and turned over to a special committee for a detailed report.
Officers elected for the coming year are Sam Rissman, T. Goldenberg and Dr. H. Epstein, all of Chicago; J. Rosenthal and Abe Mintz, of Madison; N. Tropp, Gary, Ind.; M. Levin, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Cohen, Milwaukee.
David Pinski, Jewish author and national chairman of the organization, was the guest speaker at a banquet given by the national group in conjunction with the Madison branch, which acted as host. Pinski discussed organization problems.
Other speakers were J. Swetin, Rabbi Max Kadushin, Rabbi Cashden, David Shapiro, M. Ostrowsky, Judge S. B. Schein, Dr. A. Boner, J. Rosenthal and H. Lax.
