The thirteenth convention of the Jewish National Workers’ Alliance, opened here in the presence of 150 delegates representing its branches from all over the United States and Canada. The convention was opened by Dr. Pomerantz, chairman of the Chicago convention committee. He introduced Mayer Brown, president of the Alliance, who delivered the main speech, in which he discussed the activities of the organization.

Mr. Brown analyzed the situation of the Jews in the United States as well as the world over, with special emphasis on the Jewish developments in Germany. Chaim Greenberg, editor of Der Yiddisher Kempfer, also spoke at the first session. He said that the Jews must not only look to the outside world for grievances and complaints, but must also rectify their own life and conduct, in order to avoid such tragedies as are happening now to the Jews in Germany.

The convention will continue until Sunday.
