Ukrainian workers who charge the government with giving preference to Jewish apprentices were rebuked for their anti-Semitic tendencies by Petrowsky, president of the Ukrainian Wzik the Central Executive Committee.
The case centered around the decision of the Ukrainian National Commissariat of Trade to allot 300 of the Six vacancies in the Ukrainian mills and factories to Jewish apprentices. As a result of this, the Charkoff daily communist papers received numerous letters from their readers, expressing hostile surprise at the decision of the Commissariat.
