A report from the liberated city of Kharkov published in the Moscow newspapers today states that the Ukrainian State Theatre there is now giving performances in the Ukrainian language of Sholem Aleichim’s classical Yiddish drama “Tevye the Dairyman.” This is the first time that the play is being presented in Ukrainian in Kharkov, although it had been given in central Asia during the last two years while the Ukrainian Theatre was located there.
