The World Confederation of General Zionist announced here today the establishment of a General Zionist colony–“Timurim”–in the Galilee in Israel. Situated on approximately 400 acres of Jewish National Fund land, the settlement is inhabited chiefly by young South African and Rumanian Jews.
“The establishment of Timurim, as well as other colonies, will, to some extent, compensate us for the tragic loss of Nitzanim,” Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of the Confederation, declared, Nitzanim was dessroyed by a fierce Arab assault in the Arab-Israeli war.
