A preparatory meeting for a world conference on Jewish education will be held in Paris on June 29 and 30, it was announced here today in a joint statement by the American Jewish Congress, the B’nai B’rith and the World Jewish Congress.
The meeting, in which leading educators from the United States, Canada, South America, Europe and Israel will participate, is expected to discuss plans for a world conference on Jewish education which will deal with the problems of assimilation and the role of Jewish education in strengthening Jewish identification.
A special committee composed of the World Jewish Congress, the American Jewish Congress, B’nai B’rith, the Jewish Labor Committee, the Canadian Jewish Congress and the Jewish Agency for Israel, in cooperation with leading authorities in the field of Jewish education, is in charge of preliminary work for the Paris meeting.
The statement was released through the Conference of Jewish organizations by Dr, Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Jewish Congress, Dr. Joachim Prinz, president of the American Jewish Congress and Label Katz, president of B’nai B’rith.
