The third World Congress of Jewish Studies attended by more than 100 Jewish and non-Jewish scholars from the West as well as from Soviet bloc — out not from the Soviet Union– and a number of Moslem countries, opened here last night in the presence of President Izhak Ben-Zvi.
Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion spoke at the opening session, which was also addressed by Moshe Sharett, chairman of the Jewish Agency executive, Professor Nelson Glueck, president of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, and by Professor Naphtali H. Tur-Sinai, chairman of the congress.
