The World Congress in the interests of labor in Palestine will open on September 27 in Berlin. Preparations for the conference are taking place in various countries where delegates to the conference are being elected. A number of prominent Socialist and Jewish leaders in Germany are participating in the preparations for the conference in Germany, among them the veteran Socialist leaders, Eduard Bernstein, Dr. Martin Buber, Oscar Cohn, J. N. Steinberg, Dr. Arnold Zweig, and Dr. Robert Weltsch.
The leaders of the movement from Palestine are Josef Baratz, Zalman Rubashov, David Remes, and Joseph Sprinzak. The member of the Jewish Agency Executive, S. Kaplansky, has participated in conferences in the interest of the movement, which took place in Belgium, Lithuania, Latvia, and other countries.
The World Congress will culminate the activities of two years’ standing, which have been going on in the interest of labor in Palestine. One hundred and fifty thousand Congress cards were issued, describing the movement and its work. The purchase of such a card signifies an expression of sympathy with the movement. Sales of cards are in progress in various parts of the world.
