The Central Committee of the World Council of Churches issued a warning today that the refugee problems remains on a tragic and dangerous level despite World Refugee Year.
The department of inter-church aid of the Council reported to its session yesterday that “multitudes of refugees have not yet been helped and their plight is made worse because of disappointed expectations.” The report warned it was imperative that all agencies of assistance, including the United Nations, should continue their efforts to aid them.
