A world federation of YMHA’s and Jewish Community Centers, one of whose aims will be to develop YMHA’s, Jewish community centers, and Jewish youth work in Jewish communities throughout the world was formally created here this week by national leaders of Jewish youth-serving organizations with a combined membership of more than 500,000 in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia and France.
The organization was established by accredited representatives of the National Jewish Welfare Board, national association of the 288 Jewish community centers and YM-YWHA’s in the United States; The National Council of YM-YWHA’s of Canada, representing 11 centers in the Dominion; the National YMHA Council of Australia, representing Y’s in Sydney and Melbourne; the Association for Jewish Youth of Great Britain, representing 70 Jewish youth centers in the British Isles; and Eclaireurs Israelites of France.
