The World Jewish Congress issued an appeal today to the Jewish communities throughout the world to commemorate the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising with special services and ceremonies on April 13.
In a message to its affiliates in 64 countries, the WJC urged that “a particular effort should be made to prompt young Jews who did not witness those tragic and glorious events to take an active part in the various manifestations, which will open for them one of the most memorable pages of our history, inspire them with pride and enable them to pass on to future generations the memory of this stirring episode.”
