The World Jewish Congress has submitted to Chancellor Leopold Figl a memorandum reminding him that “many hundreds of needy victims of religious and racial persecution” are still waiting for pensions due them from Austrian banks, insurance institutions and public organizations.
Citing some 300 cases on file at the London headquarters of the W.J.C., the memorandum points out that many of the victims who are entitled to these pensions are now in dire straits. It asks the Austrian Government to negotiate this matter with the British Government for all Austrian emigrants now in Britain–whether British or Austrian citizens.
