A two day session of the Governing Council of the World Jewish Congress opened here today for a broad review of Jewish problems throughout the world, with Dr. Nahum Goldmann, WJC president, presiding.
Representatives were in attendance from WJC executives of Europe, Israel, North America and South America. Reports were given on the situation of Jewish communities in various parts of the world and major issues to be considered at the WJC plenary session in Brussels opening July 31. Other topics on the agenda included the Jewish situation in Eastern Europe, WJC activities in the United Nations and a report from the Commission on International Affairs.
