The World Jewish Congress prepared today to submit to the League of Nations Council on Jan. 17 a petition requesting action to “safeguard the rights of 800,000 Jews of Rumania.” An extraordinary meeting of the executive condemned anti-Semitic measures enacted by the new Rumanian Government as a violation of the 1919 Minorities Treaty.
