“We repudiate the British government’s statement cancelling England’s undertaking toward the Jewish people, and contradicting the Palestine Mandate,” says the text of a protest from the Berlin headquarters of the World League for work in Palestine. The protest is being broadcast in the form of a petition all over the world.
“The White Paper prohibits immigration and colonization, it assaults the rights of the Jewish laborer toward his word, and is impregnated with hostility toward the Jewish labor movement,” continues the petition. “It libels the labor federation and its social structure, it condemns nationalization of land, it slanders Zionist colonization, it breathes hypocrisy toward the Arabs, it incites people against people, and encourages the support of malice.”
