Members of the Netherlands Parliament have called on the government to take the initiative to revise international laws governing diplomatic immunity. They acted after the arrest and release last week of an Arab in the employ of Algeria who was caught at the Amsterdam Airport with suitcases containing letter bombs and other lethal weapons. The Dutch Foreign Ministry informed the Algerian envoy to the Benelux countries that the Netherlands considers the incident “very serious.”
