The Police Chief of the Rio Negro province, Benigno Mario Ardanaz, has repudiated a report that be recently appended a venomous anti-Semitic attack on Jews to an “order of the day” and also denied that he has resigned. In a cable to DAIA. the representative body of Argentine Jewry, he stated that the anti-Semitic declaration had been maliciously attributed to him. He added that such expressions do not tally with the spirit and actions of the Rio Negro police or its chief. Ardanaz had reportedly called for a fight against Jews, Zionism and Communism. The diatribe brought a strong protest from DAIA to the police chief who admitted he signed the supplement to the order of the day.
