French Jewry is scheduled to hold a mass pro-Israel fair, “Shalom Israel,” on May 7 complete with cinema stars, popular singers, political personalities and Israeli culinary delights. The Jewish Telegraphic Agency will operate a special booth complete with teleprinters and telex equipment which will enable people at the fair to see how the world’s only international Jewish news agency operates on a day-to-day basis. This year’s fair will be similar to last year’s which was attended by some 100,000 people. The organizers, the United Jewish Appeal and the Federation of Jewish Welfare Funds, hope for an even larger attendance this year.
