The American Jewish Congress has announced cancellation of its members’ travel program to France to protest the French government’s “indefensible, morally repugnant action in freeing the notorious Palestinian terrorist Abu Daoud.” Naomi Levine, the AJ Congress’ executive director; said that “We feel it is imperative to find a way to respond to French cowardice and indifference to the obligations men and nations owe each other if they are to develop a world in which innocent civilians can live in safety.” Most AJ Congress tours are to Israel but some of them include visits to France and other European countries.
