Editor and Publisher, newspaper trade journal, commenting upon the censorship in Nazi Germany, says in a recent editorial:

With all their skill and equipment American and English correspondents could not penetrate the fog of propaganda, deliberate falsehood of public officials, sealed courts and all the rest of the infamous set-up which has as its purpose the entrenchment of weird men in the role of rulers of one of the world’s great peoples. Modern history holds no comparable chapter of national degeneracy. Grotesque Hitler leers between the lines of every Berlin despatch. His only service to mankind could be to illustrate the horror which is inherent in fascism.

SAYS HITLER FOLLOWS BISMARCK ON JEWS

The Birkenhead News, a daily published in Birkenhead, England, comments on Hitler’s policy with regard to the Jews as follows:

Just as Bismarck used the Jew fifty years ago as the scapegoat for the establishment of his policy, so Hitler was using the Jew in exactly the same manner today. The Jew had been the scapegoat that had been sacrificed on the altar of Germany’s national calamity for the sake of demagogic politicians. For 2,000 years the story of the Jew had been the most tragic thing in the history of mankind. Must it continue forever to be so ? He did not believe it. He believed with a perfect faith that the time would come when it would cease, but he also believed that it would not come of itself. “You and I will have to help in the consummation of that glorious future,” he said, “I think one of the best ways of combating group prejudices in general, and anti-Semitism in particular, is through education.”

TELLS WHY JEWS ARE OPPRESSED

The New English Weekly, a British publication, commenting on the “Jewish Questions,” says:

The Jewish question is a national, not a race question. That is to say, the Jews are an oppressed nationality in precisely the same way as the Irish, the Indians or the Koreans. The only difference between them and these other nations is that they have not one but a number of oppressors, owing to their peculiar geographical distribution.

The oppression of national minorities is a specific feature of an unfree, class divided society. It affects certain social strata in these minorities, the strata corresponding to those who are also exploited in the dominating nations. Even today in Germany it is the Jewish workers who suffer most from the Nazi terror.

HITLER KEPT ONE PROMISE

The London Evening Standard carries the following item:

Jokes are still cracked in Berlin. The latest is that a Nazi, after reading of the rise in German unemployment figures turned to a Jewish bystander and exclaimed:

“I can’t think what you fellows grumble at. After all, Hitler did keep his promises to you.”

Commenting in the New York American on the J.T.A. story from London with regard to drinking milk after meat in meals, Arthur Brisbane comments in his column “Today”:

British medical men declare positively that “drinking milk within two hours after eating meat is highly detrimental to the digestive system.” Moses could have told them that long ago. His rules allow no milk with meat. The Bible rule borbidding you to “seethe” or otherwise cook a kid in its mother’s milk, was intended to protect those that eat the meat, and does not merely express sympathy for the mother.

Milk is a most valuable food, should be taken from infancy to old age, but not with meat.
