The sixth international conference of the World Union for Progressive Judaism opened here last night under the chairmanship of Dr. Leo Beack, leading Reform rabbi in pre-war Germany.
More than 15.0 delegates from 13 countries will discuss the “part that Judaism can play in resolving the problems of the world today.” The conference was opened with religious lectures delivered by Prof. Charles Raven, of Cambridge University, and Dr. D.H. Wice, American director of the World Union. Delegates attending the five-day parley come from Australia, Britain, Eire, France, Germany, Holland, Israel, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay and the United States.
