A helpless invalid for the last eight years, Private Jacob Rosenthal of this city, disabled world War veteran, took the oath of membership in Hartford post, Jewish World War Veterans, Sunday, at St. Francis hospital where he is confined.
Unable to hold a pen, his signature was written on the application by three witnesses and sworn to before a notary.
Dr. Benjamin Gross, past commander, administered the oath. Senior vice-commander Joseph I. Kopelman served as chaplain. Full colors of the post were displayed during the rites.
Private Rosenthal enlisted October 3,1917, and, while stationed in Camp Devens was injured in line of duty. He was given an honorable discharge in February, 1918, so that he could return to Hartford for treatment.
