Torah Study Month in the United States was formally inaugurated here tonight at a mass meeting addressed by Rabbi Zev Gold, of Jerusalem, head of the Department of Torah Culture and Education.
Observances of the month will be held in seven major American cities during February under joint auspices of the Department for Torah Culture and Education of the World Zionist Organization and the Rabbinical Council of America in cooperation with the Mizrachi organizations and local Jewish community councils and educational institutions. Public meetings and lectures will be held in New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Boston, Philadelphia and Baltimore.
