WQXR, the radio station of The New York Times, will welcome 1974 on Sunday at 1:30p.m., with joyous selections of Jewish liturgical music, Paul Kwartin, host, said that his WQXR program, “On Wings of Song ” will open symbolically the “Golden Gates of Joy,” an oratorio for soloists, choir and orchestra, by Issachar Miron to the text of Avraham Soltes, Prof, Miron, the well-known composer, who served as Deputy Director of Music of Israel’s Ministry of Education and Culture and officer-in chief of Art and Entertainment Programs of the Israeli Defense Army, said he adds to his composition a prayer that ” the darkness of the Yom Kippur War will be transformed into a New Year’s light transcending boundaries of hatred with warmth and love and harbingers through Golden Gates of Joy a new era of peace and security for Israel and all humanity.”
