Yehudah-Hersch Shaiak, author and newspaper editor, died here at the age of 66. He had written several books in Yiddish, and was first to translate Scandinavian works into Yiddish. He was born in Russia, later lived in London where, in the 1920’s, he edited the London Jewish Post, and has been in Australia since shortly before World War II broke out. During World War I he was injured in combat, losing a leg.
