Funeral services were held today for Yehoshua Ornestein, one of the first Jewish publishers in Palestine, who died at the age of 81. Ornestein was born in Poland and came to Palestine in the early twenties when he established the Yavneh Publishing House.
Among its publications were the first Hebrew encyclopedia, Michlal, the works of S. Shalom, Arilbn-Zohav, the Kassoutto Bible and the Midrash Raba.
