In recognition of the growing importance of membership income in relation to balancing the budget, Harry L. Glucksman, executive director of the National Jewish Welfare Board, has called a conference of executive directors of Y.M.H.A.’s, Y.W.H.A.’s, and Jewish Community Centers, to be held Saturday evening, April 22nd, Sunday, April 23rd, and Monday, April 24th, at the Y.M.H.A., 92nd Street and Lexington Avenue, New York City. Executive directors from a number of communities throughout the country are expected to attend.
The conference will consider an evaluation of present membership policies, new systems of membership affiliation, the experience of recent campaigns, and other measures that will build up the membership in Jewish Centers so as to enhance their usefulness in the present emergency.
