Yair Sheleg, the Jewish World correspondent for the Israeli daily Ha’aretz, won the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee’s Smolar Prize. The $2,500 prize was established by the family of Boris Smolar, a former managing editor of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, who was committed to covering Diaspora issues.
