Yehuda Elberg, an award-winning Yiddish author, died Oct. 18 in Montreal at age 91. Elberg gained some notice in the English-speaking world after two of his books, “Ship of the Hunted” and “The Empire of Kalman the Cripple,” were translated into English in 1997.
