The Association of Yemenite Jews today announced at a press conference that it has rejected a decision of the Jewish Agency prohibiting the conducting of an independent fund-raising campaign in the United Status for the benefit of Yemenite Jews in Israel.
Revealing that so far they have raised $75,000 in the United States, the leaders of the Association said that they are prepared to consider the possibility of discontinuing the independent campaign provided the Jewish Agency reaches an agreement granting a permanent allocation from the Agency’s budget for the specific needs of the 100,000 Yemenite Jews now living in Israel.
