Two Jewish educators and a layman active in the educational field were given the second annual Horeb Awards of the Teachers Institutes Associated Alumni of Yeshiva University, at special ceremonies at the Yeshiva here tonight. The awards were inaugurated in 1960 to honor outstanding alumni of the university’s Teachers Institutes for men and women.
The recipients were Morris B. Benathan, director of the Metropolitan New York Commission on Talmud Torah Education for the Jewish Education Committee of New York; Dr. Morris Epstein, editor of World Over magazine; and Henry Zeisel, Rockland County chairman of Yeshiva University’s “council of ambassadors, ” a nationwide advisory group.
