George Alpert, president of the board of trustees of Brandeis University, was honored by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University at a reception at the Harmonie Club on the occasion of his appointment as an honorary chairman of the medical college $25,000,000 campaign. Community leaders from all parts of the country joined in the tribute to Mr. Alpert in “recognition of his distinguished services in furthering community interest in higher education.”
One of the founders of Brandeis University at Waltham, Mass., Mr. Alpert has been identified with its development and growth since its inception. Mr. Alpert has also been associated with overseas relief and refugee aid work, serving as one of the national co-chairmen of the United Jewish Appeal, national vice-chairman of the United Israel Appeal and as a director of the Joint Distribution Committee.
