One hundred and ninety-three degrees and diplomas, and three honorary degrees were conferred by Yeshiva University yesterday at its 25th annual commencement exercises.
Dr. Samuel Belkin, president of the university, conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws upon Senator Irving M. Ives of New York and that of Doctor of Divinity on the Very Rev, Rabbi Israel Brodie, Chief Rabbi of the British Commonwealth. Abba Eban, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, who was scheduled to receive the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, was unable to be present. He will receive his degree at a later date.
