The acquisition of a 20-page mathematical paper by the late Albert Einstein containing one of his early attempts to work out his “unified field theory” was announced here today by Yeshiva University. At the same time, University president Dr. Samuel Belkin announced the university’s plans to establish at the institution a permanent collection of Einstein works.
The document acquired today was donated by Dr. Leo Perlman, financier, philanthropist and member of the University’s president’s council, who purchased it for an undisclosed sum. The paper is said to contain deletions, corrections and preparatory calculations which give insight into Prof. Einstein’s working habits.
