Eighty-five rabbis, war-time graduates of the Rabbi Issac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University , were formally ordained as a ceremony at the University today. The newly-ordained rabbis come from 16 states and Canada.
The exercises, the twelfth in the history of the Seminary, also marked the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the institution. Speakers at the ceremony were Samuel Levy, chairman of the board of directors of Yeshiva University , Dr. Samuel Belkin, president, and Dr. Joseph B. Soloveitschick, professor of Talmud and Jewish Philosophy at the Seminary.
