Yiddish advocate and teacher Itche Goldberg died. Goldberg, who promoted the language in a variety of forms including writing poetry, librettos, children’s books and essays, as well as running Yiddish schools and summer camps, succumbed to complications from cancer Dec. 27 at his home in New York City. He was 102.
