The Yiddish-language, pro-Communist daily. Morning Freiheit, published today an interview given its editor, Paul Novick, by Prime Minister Levi Eshkol in Jerusalem. It quoted Mr. Eshkol as saying that Israel’s sole objective with the Arabs was peace and that Israel sought no territorial aggrandizement. The editor said that Mr, Eshkol had categorically rejected mediation between Israel and the Arab states but had indicated a third party could help arrange for direct talks.
There was no reference in the published interview to the question of Israeli-Soviet relations or the role of the Communist powers in the Middle East.
