The following is the text of the Loyal Address presented to His Majesty on behalf of the Jewish Community for the Silver Jubilee, signed by Neville Laski, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, and Leonard Montefiore, president of the Anglo-Jewish Association:

“To the King’s Most Excellent Majesty. Most Gracious Sovereign,

“We, the London Committee of Deputies of the British Jews, as the elected and representative body of the Jews of the British Empire, and we, the Anglo-Jewish Association, on our own behalf and on behalf of our branches throughout the British Empire, humbly approach Your Majesty for the purpose of offering our heartfelt and respectful congratulations on the twenty-fifth anniversary of Your Majesty’s accession to the throne.

“We desire to assure Your Majesty that in the expressions of loyal affection which the auspicious event is evoking from the millions of your loyal subjects of every creed and race in all parts of the world, Your Majesty’s subjects of the Jewish faith yield to none in the depth of their loyalty or the sincerity of their feelings. During Your Majesty’s long and arduous reign, your Jewish subjects have shared in the efforts, the endurance and the triumphs of their fellow-countrymen with a deep sense of devotion to the Throne and to the British Commonwealth of Nations. In tendering their respectful congratulations they do so in full participation with the rest of Your Majesty’s subjects in those rights and liberties within whose compass the British Commonwealth of Nations has advanced under Your Majesty’s wise direction during the past twenty-five years.

“We earnestly pray that Your Majesty’s reign may be prolonged and that you may continue for many years to enjoy the love and gratitude of Your Majesty’s subjects.”
