Synagogues throughout the country continued their prayers for the recovery of President Eisenhower during the Yom Kippur services yesterday. Special prayers were composed and recited by rabbis petitioning for Divine aid in behalf of the President.
The synagogues were reported to have been more crowded this year than ever before. In their sermons the rabbis emphasized that Jews must return to the Bible and that freedom under God’s law calls for liberation of the human character from bigotry, hatred, falsehood and injustice.
