Young Israel Convention Demands Unrestricted Immigration into Palestine; Supports Fepc

The reelection of Edward S, silver, Commissioner of the Alien Enemy Hearing Board, as president of the National Council of Young Israel was announced today by the Council following its 33rd annual convention held at the Hotel McAlpin.

Among the resolutions adopted at the convention were a demand for unrestricted immigration into Palestine and the establishment of a free and democratic Jewish Commonwealth; a request that the Oswego internees be allowed a permanent haven in the United States; support of Justice Jackson’s recommendations for the speedy prosecution of war criminals; and action by Congress establishing the FEPC as a permanent anti-discrimination agency.
