Young Judaea, the oldest and largest Zionist youth movement in the United States, has formally requested the sponsorship of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, it was announced today by Bernard Weisberg, national director of Young Judaea.
The request was made because of the impending dissolution of the American Zionist Youth Commission, a partnership between Hadassah and the Zionist Organization of America, which had sponsored Young Judaea since 1941. Hadassah has expressed its willingness to become the sole sponsor of “an expanded and enlarged Young Judaea, including a structure on the young adult level.” Mr. Weisberg said. Young Judaea has 10,000 members in the age-range from nine to 18 years.
