Youth Aliyah Executive Reduces Its Responsibility for Children’s Immigration to Israel

The Youth Aliyah movement will henceforth accept responsiblity only for the immigration of youths between 14 and 17 years of age, the organization’s executive announced today. Children under 14 will be cared for only it they are orphans, it was added.

The number of immigrants in transit camps in Isreal rose to 86,000 last week with the arrival of 2,800 new immigrants, it was announced by the Jewish Agency. The Agency also reported that some 2,000 new housing units were constructed in the country during January.
