Mrs. Samuel W. Halprin, national president of Hadassah, spoke yesterday afternoon over Station WOR on the contrasting aspirations of the youths of America and Europe and those of Palestine, as she observed them on her recent trip abroad.
“Unlike Europeans and Americans, the youth of Palestine prefers to remain on the soil rather than seek a career in the cities,” she said. “The children, too, love outdoor life. The climate of the country is similar to that of California, so that they may live in the open all year around. Much of the school study is done outdoors. In geography, for instance, each class has a given section to study for crops, animal life, topography and natural resources, and an extended trip is taken in the spring to the assigned place to make a thorough survey.”
