One of the few survivors among the Bilu pioneers of Palestine passed away today in the death of David Yudelevitz, who died at Rishon Le-Zion today. He was eighty years old.
Yudelevitz, who was one of the founders of the colony of Zichron Yaakov, came to Palestine with the first wave of Bilu settlers. Since 1886 he had been engaged in teaching and journalism. He was a frequent contributor to Hebrew publications, the editor of the first children’s magazine published in Palestine and the author of several Hebrew works. At his bedside in passing were a few of the remaining survivors of Bilu days.
