Central Jewish organizations here said today they were unaware of a reported wholesale deportation order by Yugoslavia against Jewish refugees from Germany and Italy. They added, however, that gradual elimination of foreign Jews in Yugoslavia had been going on for months.
It was learned reliably that the Yugoslavian Government has cancelled deportation orders against Jews who have been in the country more than four years and has renewed their president at permits. (The report of Yugoslavia’s action against refugees was contained in a Tirana dispatch yesterday to the London Evening Standard which declared that most of the refugees had already been expelled and the frontier closed to “non-Aryans” with German passports.)
