Jewish circles were perturbed by persistent rumors that the Yugoslav Government intends to pass an anti-Semitic law. Already drafted, the law is said to divide Jews into various categories, distinguishing not only between native and foreign Jews, but introducing a distinction between Jews who lived in Serbia before the war and who participated in the Wars of Liberation, and the new Jews who lived in districts of former Austria-Hungary.
Full rights will reportedly be enjoyed by the Serbian Jews only, while the rights of the other categories will be limited in varying degree.
