The 68th annual convention of the Zionist Organization of America opens here tomorrow at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel with the participation of about 1,000 delegates from all parts of the country. It will, for the first time in 25 years, discuss and vote upon a basic revision of the ZOA constitution, the draft of which was prepared by a committee of attorneys.
Devoted to the theme “Israel and Zionism–Partners in Jewish Survival,” the four-day sessions of the convention will be marked by discussions and action on all vital issues encompassed in the program of the Zionist movement. The range of this program covers such topics as World Zionist Affairs, Aliyah, Youth and Jewish Education, with particular emphasis on work for the enrichment of Jewish life on the American scene. Guest speakers at the opening session will include Israel Ambassador Avraham Harman, Senator Jacob K. Javits and Mayor Robert F. Wagner.
