The appointment of Mortimer May of Nashville as national chairman and Joseph Goldberg of Worcester as co-chairman of the American Zionist Fund of the Zionist Organization of America was announced today by Z. O. A. headquarters here. The appointment of the two veteran Zionist leaders was made by Rabbi Irving Miller, president of the Z. O. A., prior to his departure for Israel last week.
The American Zionist Fund this year has been charged with raising a national goal of $850,000 among the nationwide member ship of the Z. O. A. to finance the major part of its new program of work embracing the work of the newly established Commission on Israel and the Middle East, the department to foster private capital investment in Israel, youth work, the furtherance of Hebrew culture, the department of World Zionist Affairs and the operation of Z. O. A. House in Israel.
