Rabbi Irving Miller, president of the Zionist Organization of America, today sharply rejected the allegations which he charged are widely spread by “Arab propagandists and their powerful friends in Washington and elsewhere” that the United States has heretofore accorded “preferential” treatment to Israel as compared with the Arab states.
Speaking on U. S. aid to Israel and the Arab states, the Zionist leader charged that “there are forces at work which would have the U.S. Administration translate impartiality into appeasement.” He called for alertness “in defense of those interests which are so closely linked with the great endeavor in behalf of democratic and human progress now being made in Israel.”
Dr. Miller addressed a meeting of the National ZOA Administrative Council, the ruling body of the ZOA between conventions, at the Hotel Statler, with members from all parts of the country in attendance. The meeting heard reports on the latest developments in Israel and the world Zionist movement and discussed plans for the structural reorganization of the ZOA which will be submitted for consideration and approval at the forthcoming annual convention of the organization on August 26-30 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel here.
