* Ze’ev Bielski was unanimously re-elected as chairman of the World Zionist Organization. Hagai Merom was elected as the organization’s treasurer. Next week the two are scheduled to be elected as chairman and treasurer, respectively, of the Jewish Agency for Israel. Delegates at the World Zionist Congress on Thursday also elected the 32 members of the Zionist executive, the organization’s highest governing body. The 35th World Zionist Congress, composed of some 2,000 delegates and observers gathered from around the world, met this week in Jerusalem. The organization helps in the decision-making for the Jewish Agency for Israel, which controls a $350 million budget. Half of the agency’s board of governors come from the WZO, as do many of its committee members.
